Our Volunteers

Starting with a small group of friends, the group quickly grew through word of mouth. Many volunteers began to join in KSK who are from all ages, come from all walks of life and many faiths and KSK has today evolved to become a microcosm of the wonderful melting pot of cultures which makes Malaysia.

KSK would not be where it is today without the kindness and generosity of our volunteers, who themselves often sponsor some of the food distributed. Many people have been inspired by seeing the young men and women go out and help others less fortunate than themselves - this group focuses on social work for the benefit of others.

If you wish to volunteer, please contact Justin Cheah 012 209 3813. Please note that volunteers have to be approved by the committee. Volunteers are also required to attend a compulsory orientation program which will take place on Sundays, 4.30pm at Kechara House 2. The address is as follows:

Doctors/ Nurses/
Medically trained personnel

Our clients often need medical help, but due to lack of funds and identification documents, it is usually difficult for them to get medical assistance. KSK wishes to help them where we can but so far we can only provide basic first aid. We hope that medically qualified people can come with us on our rounds to help advise on medical treatment required.

First aid supplies

In order to provide basic first aid care, we are seeking sponsorship of first aid kits or supplies for first aid kits, such as antiseptic cream, iodine, bandages, panadol, cotton wool etc.

Clothing

We seek unused or used (clean and in good condition) clothes, raincoats, umbrellas, shoes, hats - both mens and womens, any sizes.

Food

KSK needs sponsorship of fruits, breads, biscuits, bottled drinks and other halal foodstuff.

Funding

To make our vision fully materialise, we require funding in terms of cash donations or pledges, especially for the realisation of the two centres we wish to set up.

All cash donations will be acknowledged with an official receipt.
